Excellent lecture and delivery of strategies.
I watched this video as a part of my BSN course and it made me cry... It is so so sad, and could have been avoided if clinicians actually paid attention to their patients...May he rest in peace..
Four More Years 😄
Four More Years.😊
I'm in tears watching this for my first semester of nursing school.
Maybe it’s time to choose a different career path 😊
same here
When I had a kidney stone, the hospital gave me dilaudid and it felt like my chest was caving in and then it hit me like a train
Well she think she cute, n gonna take it out on us when we don't comply with this jargon gibberish attempts being human.
Frontier student, best patient centered video, will for sure use this after practicing it for a while. Thanks to Frontier Nursing School for providing this to students.
horrendous!
Stupid french and bilingual bullshit. If you can't read English in Canada, you shouldn't be working in health care.
This is why more nurses are needed. Medication and other medical errors happen because 1 nurse has way to many patients to safely take care of. American hospitals please hire more nurses! It’s not like you wouldn’t be able to find more nurses as there are plenty out there not practicing nursing because there are more nurses than there is nursing jobs.

This is probably my favourite lecture so far! Thank you so much <3
33:33 I see what you did there: Ending the talk with some text-book MI affirmations! ;-)
nice video demonstration
Im sad.
You’re a snitch.
Please spread this across the nation. This is a national problem for not only resident physicians in training, but for the patients they serve.
I love the video on trying to explain to people how names and medicine can get confusing and giving people the wrong medicine and literally killing people not meaning to the problem with the name not being changed is people invested money in certain products and if you change the name they say where the people will get confused and I lose money and I've created that name and the government really need to step in there and change that because it's not about money you going to make money regardless of how you look at it the same product you want to make money off of it regardless of what the name is they have to figure out which one is more important the life of the patient or the product thank you
And here's another attack on Demerol as being useless and volatile....ask the many thousands with chronic pain conditions who rely on Demerol for a good quality of life it brings them and who cannot take any other medication but Demerol. Tired of the brain washed professionals ramming this garbage down our throats.....wake up and listen to the real patients who need help
Nicely done and well spoken information. I am glad it was linked to me by my Professor
Constipation?? How could anyone with a degree believe that based on the symptoms. You can’t just look at someone and assume that someone is constipated. Even so it wasn’t treated. And no attending for 2 days?
Love the phrase psychological aikido!
I’m very happy and proud to see this type of initiative and action!
Nurses need to work as a team. Doctors should be acknowledged more in this case. I am bewildered why this patient was not seen by the specialist as was needed to save this young boys life not waiting for an autopsy report. RNs do not have the knowledge as a specialist or doctor. RNs knowledge is learned by experience and ongoing practise. Therefore it is always better practice to report and direct ongoing patient care to the right team members the specialist and doctors.
the video is touching, it reveals how nurses are unwilling to assist one another in caring for each others patient except theirs and how too much of application and reliance on guide and protocol cause neglect of patient symptoms.
I’ve never seen the arrow before. That’s quite a metaphor.
These stories I have been reading are nearly unbelievable. I have been a nurse for thirty years, most of it in critical care. I weep for the future of healthcare in America.
As do I
People are fooled by the word minimal. Any type of surgery is a risk and as nurse I have seen cases where things have gone disasterly wrong even with simple procedures.
i am so sorry for ur lose this is devastating
Very informative, enlightening, and entertaining.
I like what he says but he’s talking too fast. I would’ve like to make notes but he just goes way too fast
I am an occupational therapy student in a grand rounds class. We were shown Lewis’s story about patient safety and error reduction. His story is still being told. His story will continue to be told. While I am not authorized to prescribe medication, I will be diligent in reviewing medical records to try to recognize errors inputted either by myself or others on the healthcare team. May Lewis Rest In Peace, and may you find comfort knowing that your child’s story will help to save other lives.
Excellent presentation
Where can we find the pocket card mentioned in this workshop?
Don't fall for the gun violence propaganda people please
This is great!!!!!
Amazing! I wish I had the slide show.
This is a very useful tool to use especially with trying to change behaviors. I loved the story about what motivated the man to give up smoking, seeing his son shivering in the rain while he drove right past him to buy cigarettes. What an eye opener!! Thank you for sharing. Wow!!! Very effective!!
Great presentation!
Wow! That was brilliant, Dr. Fader! You helped me understand the MI technique very well indeed. Thanks so much! Warm Regards, Harinee , India.

Thank you for a great presentation and also the topic is so fascinating.

Dr. Jonathan Fader, you did a great job in public speaking. Your message was heard. Thank you for learning each skill and then learning how to teach it to others. Thank you
Would it have really hurt to post more of what she was saying? Feels like it was cut off to short.
Motivational interview content is fantastic but the style of presentation was even better.
